Fairbanks City Hall open by appointment only starting July 20
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -The City of Fairbanks released a statement Thursday announcing that as of July 20th in-person traffic in City Hall will be by appointment only.
Due to the recent increase of COVID19 cases in the Fairbanks area, City Hall will be open to the public on an appointment-only basis beginning Monday, July 20. Masks have been required for employees and visitors of City Hall, and this requirement will stand until further notice.
City employees will continue to be available to assist residents via phone and email Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. The City will continue to make sure that employees are practicing social-distancing.
Residents are encouraged to use online and over-the-phone options for garbage and citation payments. The Building Department will be operating by appointment-only with regards to issuance of permits and conducting inspections.

We do not expect any disruption to department services with this change. Mayor Matherly encourages residents and businesses to continue to take precautions to stay healthy and to use masks while in public or around those not in your household.
