PET OF THE WEEK: Meet Willa, a 4-year old Alaskan Husky
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -
Will-a you be the new owner of a cute Alaskan Husky? Well, you could be, if you adopt Willa, this week’s News 13 Pet of the Week.
Here’s what Sarah Harman, Animal Tender with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Hi, my name is Sarah, I’m here a the Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter with our Pet of the Week. Our Pet of the Week this week is Willa, she is a four-year old Alaskan Husky. She comes from a mushing home so she has does have a little experience in harness. She is kind of shy when she first meets new people, but warms up to them pretty quick after a little bit of love. She is very sweet and gentle, however, she has spent most of her life outdoors and would need some patience and work if she were to become an inside pet. Alaskan Huskies, however, are very smart and intelligent and can learn new things very quickly. They are a very high-energy breed, bred to run hundreds of miles a day, so she would do best in an active family who could take her for hikes or maybe even do some skijoring with her or recreational mushing team would be great. Willa is a very sweet young girl, still has a lot of spunk in her and is looking for a new home. If Willa is not the one for you, we have lots of other dogs, cats and other small animals. Come on down and check us out on pet harbor and see if you can’t find yourself a new friend.”
