FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks North Star Borough’s Public Works Department and Solid Waste Facility announce that the Central Recycling Facility located at 1855 Marika Road will remain closed through August 1st, 2020.

On July 17th, 2020, FNSB announced that the CRF made the decision to cease operations due to a member of the recycling center’s contract staff testing positive for the Coronavirus. Borough residents are encouraged to continue to gather their recyclables and hold them for another week to ten days.

FNSB will keep the public informed on this matter as the circumstances change and when a date for reopening has been determined.
