Troopers seize heroin from dog house
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -According to Alaska State Troopers, on August 4, 2020 around 12:30 p.m. members of the Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team attempted to stop a car driven by 33 year old Fairbanks man, Ruben M. Musgrove, in pursuant to an open investigation. The incident occurred on Chena Ridge Road near Chena Pump Road. Musgrove failed to stop at the direction of law enforcement and drove recklessly in an attempt to avoid arrest. Musgrove discarded drugs from his vehicle during the pursuit. He drove to the area of Steelhead Road and Chena Small Tracts where he placed a homeowner in fear of serious injury due to his reckless driving as he drove into her yard and stopped. Musgrove and passengers fled on foot. Anthony J. Simpson, 20 year old of Fairbanks, remained with the vehicle. Local law enforcement officers converged on the area, including troopers in an AWT helicopter. Musgrove was located, hiding in a dog house, close to a residence near the end of Chena Small Tracts. Troopers seized 26.5 grams of heroin from the dog house after Musgrove was detained. Musgrove was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to deliver, Failure to Stop at direction of a peace officer, Assault 3, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Driving While License was Revoked and parole violations. Simpson was charged with MICS 4 for possession of heroin. Both men were remanded to FCC.
