Truck rolls over on busy intersection
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On Thursday morning a Northland Wood truck rolled over on the corner of Peger road and Van Horn road, scattering wood and debris across the street. The Fairbanks Police Department was on the scene to block off the area while the wood was cleaned up, and the truck was flipped back onto its wheels.
Fairbanks Police Department Officer Derrick Winter was able to provide a summary of the events preceding the crash, as well as comment on the state of the vehicle’s driver. “This morning the Fairbanks Police department was dispatched to a rollover accident at Peger and Van Horn. A flatbed pickup truck hauling a load of wood tipped over, due to probably a little bit of his speed, and also the weight of his load. I just talked to the driver. He’s doing good, he’s in the hospital right now. He just has a couple of scrapes, a sore arm, but really no major injuries luckily”, said Officer Winter.
Fortunately for continued traffic in the area, assistance wasn’t far off. Winter continued, “Luckily we’re in an industrial area down here, so a lot of businesses came to help, and they got the wood out of the road fairly fast which was nice.”
The truck and assorted debris was cleared within hours after the accident.
