FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME INTO OUR TUESDAY NIGHT WEATHER, MIKE SHULTZ WITH YOU AS ALWAYS.

TODAY TURNED OUT TO A NICE DAY, BUT THERE IS SOME RAIN IN THE FORECAST, MORE ABOUT THAT LATER.

OUR PHOTO TONIGHT IS OF THE AURORAS SATURDAY NIGHT DOWN NEAR DELTA.

TODAY’S HIGH SO FAR HAS BEEN 60, WHILE THE LOW LAST NIGHT DROPPED DOWN TO 42.

THE RECORD HIGH OF 75 WAS SET IN 1919, WHILE THE RECORD LOW WAS SET IN 1992 WITH 15 DEGREES.

ACROSS THE STATE, KETCHIKAN HAD THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE WITH 67, WHILE IT WAS CHILLY 37 DEGREES ON THE NORTH SLOPE. 50′S AND 60′S WERE SCATTERED ELSEWHERE.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWS A STRONG FRONT MOVING FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO THE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE STATE WITH SHOWERS OVER THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTHCENTRAL REGIONS.

IN THE LOWER 48, THERE ARE FINALLY SHOWERS MOVING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WHICH SHOULD HELP FIREFIGHTERS.

MEANWHILE, ALL ATTENTION IS FOCUSED ON THE HURRICANE SALLY WHICH IS MOVING INTO ALABAMA. OUT IN THE ATLANTIC TROPICAL SYSTEM TEDDY IS STRENGTHENING INTO A TROPICAL STORM AND MOVING WESTWARD ACROSS THE ATLANTIC.

TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE FAIRLY WARM WITH THE ONLY EXCEPTION THE NORTHEAST.

ALASKA’S OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW IS FOR RAIN ON THE NORTH SLOPE AND IN THE NOME AREA. THE INTERIOR WILL SEE CLOUDY SKIES AND SCATTERED SHOWERS. IT WILL BE SUNNY OVER THE SOUTHEAST FOR JUNEAU AND KETCHIKAN.

BETHEL AND COLD BAY WILL SEE RAIN, WHILE KODIAK WILL BE CLOUDY.

AND THE SOUTHCENTRAL AREAS WILL SEE CLOUDY SKIES IN ANCHORAGE AND HOMER, WHILE VALDEZ WILL HAVE SHOWERS.

LOCALLY WE WILL HAVE A LITTLE RAIN OVERNIGHT, DIMINISHING EARLY TOMORROW THEN PARTLY CLOUDY THE RESTO FOT HE AT DAY AND EVENING. THE EXTENDED FORECAST IS FOR CHANCE OF A LITTLE RAIN FRIDAY, THEN CLOUDY TO MOSTLY SUNNY THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH DAYTIME HIGHS IN THE 50′S, AND OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE UPPER 30′S.
