TODAY’S PHOTO CAPTURES WHAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON ACROSS THE INTERIOR WITH BEAUTIFUL FALL COLORS.

THE HIGH TODAY SO FAR HAS BEEN 60 DEGREES AFTER AN OVERNIGHT LOW OF 44.

THE RECORD HIGH WAS 71 IN 1973, AND THE RECORD LOW OF 12 1992.

ACROSS THE STATE CURRENTLY FOR THE THIRD DAY IN A ROW, KETCHIKAN IS AT 67, WHILE THE NORTH SLOPE HAS A CHILLY 48 DEGREES.

ELSEWHERE, 50′S 60′S ARE BEING REPORTED.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR PICTURE SHOWS WIDESPREAD RAIN HEADING ACROSS THE STATE FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO THE NORTHEAST.

MEANWHILE IN THE LOWER 48, THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST IS SEEING SOME SHOWER ACTIVITY.

ELSEWHERE THE REMNANTS OF HURRICANE SALLY ARE NOW MOVING ACROSS ALABAMA TOWARD GEORGIA. OUT IN THE ATLANTIC SOON TO BE HURRICANE TEDDY, IS RAMPING UP AND EXPECTED TO REACH CATEGORY 3 INTENSITY AS IT HEADS TOWARD THE NORTHWEST.

TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE PRETTY CONSISTENTLY IN THE 70′S WITH A FEW 80′S AND TRIPLE DIGITS OVER ARIZONA.

BACK IN ALASKA TOMORROW, IT WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY ON THE NORTH SLOPE AND CLOUDY IN NOME.

THE INTERIOR WILL SEE CLOUDY SKIES WITH SHOWERS DEVELOPING LATE IN THE DAY.

THE SOUTHEAST WILL HAVE ANOTHER DAY OF WIDESPREAD SUNSHINE.

OVER THE SOUTHWEST PART BETHEL AND COLD BAY WILL HAVE RAIN, WHILE KODIAK WILL BE CLOUDY.

AND THE SOUTHCENTRAL AREAS WILL SEE SHOWERS AT ANCHORAGE AND HOMER, WITH HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE FOR VALDEZ.

LOCALLY TONIGHT WE WILL SEE INCREASING CLOUDS LATE WITH PERIODS OF SUN TOMORROW, THEN INCREASING CLOUDS TOMORROW NIGHT.

THE EXTENDED FORECAST IS FOR SHOWERS ON FRIDAY WITH MAINLY CLOUDY TO PARTLY CLOUDY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. WITH MORE SUN RETURNING FOR MOST OF NEXT WEEK.
