FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -Sometimes a little help can mean the world to someone.

Last Friday Edith Kockrine was cleaning out her car at Bently Car Wash when she accidently threw a bag of her daughter’s handmade beading earrings into the trash.

Earrings made by Edith Kokrine's 12 year old daughter were accidently thrown into the Bently Car Wash trash September 11th.

After realizing her mistake she went back to the car wash where an attendant, Todd Thompson, helped her shuffle through bags of trash, but they found nothing.

Disappointed, she left, only to receive a call an hour later that the earrings were found. Thompson had continued to dig through the garbage.

When Kockrine returned and tried to offer him money, Thompson refused saying, “That’s just how it is, sometimes our customers accidently throw stuff away and it requires us to dig through trash.”

Kockrine was relieved and grateful.

“I’m so thankful to him and the universe," Kockrine said, "For everything working out just in time before it went to the landfill.”
