FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -

Multiple flag football games within the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District have been postponed as a student-athlete has tested positive for COVID-19, impacting the sport.

“A positive COVID-19 case of a student-athlete impacted flag football players at a recent game,” FNSBSD Director of Public Relations Yumi McCulloch told KTVF via email. “As a result, a number of players in various schools are now in quarantine status, and the flag football schedule has been revised.”

Three flag football games this week have been rescheduled or postponed: Hutchison/Lathrop on Monday, Lathrop/West Valley on Tuesday and North Pole/Lathrop on Wednesday have been postponed until next week. A volleyball match between Lathrop and Monroe set for Tuesday was also rescheduled. North Pole will face West Valley Wednesday, while the annual ‘Dog Bowl’ between Lathrop and West Valley is still scheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m.
