Borough Assembly to discuss air quality State Implementation Plan
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly is scheduled to have their regular meeting Thursday (10/08) at 6 p.m. in the Juanita Helms Administrative Center.
The meeting is the first to be held since the municipal elections on Tuesday, where two assembly members, Jimi Cash and Aaron Lojewski, defended their seats, and Seat D, currently held by presiding officer Christopher Quist, was sought after in a three-way race.
Because the results of the election have not been certified, the assembly’s members remain the same.
According to the meeting’s agenda, the assembly is scheduled to look at several ordinances and resolutions, among them Resolution number 2020-37, a resolution “Supporting the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation’s proposed changes to regulations on air quality and to the serious State Implementation Plan for the Fairbanks North Star Borough Non-attainment Area.”
According to the borough’s website, assembly meetings are being held in person as well as via Zoom.
The full text of Resolution 2020-37, as well as a summary of the proposed amendment to the ADEC’s State Implementation Plan, can be found in the assembly’s Full Agenda Packet at fnsb.us
