FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME BACK FOR OUR FRIDAY NIGHT WEATHER.

TODAY WAS A BEAUTIFUL BUT CHILLY DAY AND TOMORROW LOOKS LIKE MORE OF THE SAME.

OUR WEATHER PICTURE TONIGHT IS A GREAT PHOTO TAKEN AT QUARTZ LAKE.

THE HIGH SO FAR TODAY HAS BEEN 23 AND THE LOW LAST NIGHT WAS 3 DEGREES.

THE RECORD HIGH WAS 54 IN 1925, AND THE RECORD LOW OF 10 BELOW WAS SET IN 1967.

ACROSS THE STATE, 40′S AND 50′S WERE OVER THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE STATE, WHILE 20′S AND 30′S COVERED THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE REGION.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWED SHOWERS OVER THE NORTHEAST AND THE WEST COAST WITH CLEAR SKIES ELSEWHERE.

IN THE LOWER 48, SHOWERS ARE OVER PARTS OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, WHILE A STRONG FRONT IS UP AND DOWN THE EAST COAST STRETCHING TO THE SOUTHERN GULF OF MEXICO. TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE COOL OVER THE NORTHERN SECTIONS WHILE THE REST OF NATION HAS ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

ALASKA’S OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW IS FOR SCATTERED CLOUDS ALONG THE NORTH SLOPE, WITH RAIN LIKELY FOR NOME.

THE INTERIOR WILL SEE SUNSHINE AND SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES.

THE SOUTHEAST WILL SEE CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES FOR JUNEAU AND KETCHIKAN.

OVER THE SOUTHWEST, RAIN AND SNOW IS POSSIBLE AT BETHEL, WITH RAIN IN COLD BAY, AND A CHANCE OF RAIN AT KODIAK.

THE SOUTHCENTRAL WILL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES FOR THE REGION.

TONIGHT LOCALLY IT WILL BE CLEAR AND QUITE CHILLY ONCE AGAIN. TOMORROW WILL BRING SUNSHINE TO THE AREA AND SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES, TOMORROW NIGHT WILL SEE AN INCREASE IN CLOUDS.

THE EXTENDED FORECAST IS FOR CLOUDY FOR SUNDAY WITH SNOW CHANCE INCREASING OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY AND CONTINUING INTO THE MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK.
