FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME INTO OUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT WEATHER.

TODAY WAS A GRAY CLOUDY DAY WITH A FEW SNOW FLURRIES, BUT TOMORROW LOOKS TO BE MUCH BETTER. MORE ON THAT IN A MINUTE.

TODAY’S PHOTO IS A NICE PICTURE OF A SUNSET AT THE TANANA LAKES RECREATION AREA.

THE HIGH TODAY HAS BEEN 26, AND TH ELOW LAST NIGHT WAS IN THE LOW 20′S. THE RECORD HIGH FOR TODAY WAS 60 IN 1938, AND THE RECORD LOW DROPPED DOWN TO 17 BELOW IN 1958.

THE DAYLIGHT FOR TODAY IS EXACTLY 9 HOURS, WHILE THE WINDS ARE CALM.

ACROSS THE STATE, THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS OUT AT COLD BAY, WHILE THE COLD SPOT AGAIN WAS FORT YUKON.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWS A LARGE MASS OF CLOUDS IS MOVING ACROSS THE GULF OF ALASKA. PRECIPITATION IS VERY LIGHT ACROSS THE STATE.

IN THE LOWER 48 ITS THE SAME OLD STORY CLEAR OUT TO THE WEST, WIDESPREAD SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHERN STATES AND THE GREAT LAKES, MEANWHILE OUT IN THE ATLANTIC, HURRICANE EPSILON IS MOVING NEAR BERMUDA, BUT WILL NOT AFFECT THE UNITED STATES.

TEMPERATURES ARE SHOWING COLDER AIR MOVING DOWN INTO THE CENTRAL PART OF THE COUNTRY WHILE NORMAL READINGS ARE INDICATED ELSEWHERE.

BACK IN ALASKA FOR TOMORROW. PERIODS OF SNOW WILL FALL ALONG THE NORTH SLOPE, WHILE NOME WILL BE SUNNY.

THE INTERIOR WILL SEE MORE SUNSHINE, BUT TEMPERATURES WILL COOL DOWN.

THE SOUTHEAST WILL SEE SUNSHINE.

BETHEL WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY WITH RAIN AT COLD BAY AND KODIAK.

SOUTHCENTRAL AREAS WILL BE MOSTLY SUNNY.

THERE IS AN ADVISORY TONIGHT FOR FREEZING DRIZZLE AND PATCHY FOG INTO THE MORNING HOURS THEN SUNSHINE SHOULD TAKE OVER. TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE CLEAR WITH BELOW ZERO TEMPERATURES.

THE EXTENDED OUTLOOK IS FOR SUNNY SKIES THROUGH FRIDAY WITH MORE CLOUDS OVER THE WEEKEND AND A CHANCE OF A LITTLE SNOW FOR THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK.
