Lathrop volleyball sweeps West Valley behind Tagovailoa, Powers
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The West Valley Wolfpack returned to the volleyball court after coming out of quarantine last week. Unfortunately, they faced the Lathrop Malemutes that are firing on all cylinders.
“Just to win every game like it is the last," said Lathrop senior Harmony La’apui. "Like, just have fun with it. We’re having fun so I think that’s all that matters.”
Lathrop was able to earn a 3-0 sweep over West Valley thanks to the efforts of T.T. Tagovailoa and Rachel Powers. Tagovailoa collected 15 kills while Powers contributed in 20 assists.
West Valley was out of action for some time due to the program being put into quarantine. The Wolfpack were able to get back onto the court to prepare for the 2020 Mid Alaska Conference tournament. Regional tournaments will be the only form of postseason play in the state of Alaska for volleyball. This decision stems from the Alaska State Activities Association when they cancelled Fall championships in early October.
