UAF Rifle sets sights on 2020-21 season with schedule release

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -

The nationally-recognized rifle program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks have a 2020-21 schedule laid out in conjunction with the Patriot Rifle Conference. The Nanooks will begin shooting with a two-day match at the University of Texas El Paso November 14-15. Just two days later, UAF will arrive in Oxford, Mississippi to take on Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) on November 17. Still in Oxford, the 'Nooks will take on Georgia Southern University on November 19. The 10-time National Champions will make their Fairbanks debut January 16 when they host Texas Christian University for two-day match. The following weekend, UAF will welcome Air Force to town for the final matches of the regular season. The Patriot Rifle Conference Championships will take place February 6-7 in Columbus, Ohio, while the Nanooks will host the NCAA Qualifiers at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range on campus February 20. For those who qualify, the NCAA Championships are set for March 10-11 in Columbus, Ohio.

The co-ed Nanooks are led by a trio of seniors in Jessica Boyce, Haley Castillo and Liam Eberhart. A pair of freshmen join the program this year, headlined by Marina Gonzales Mazo, who competed for the Spanish National Team.
