FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Capstone Clinic of Alaska has been selected by the State of Hawaii to become a trusted partner for its domestic transpacific and inter-county pre-travel testing programs. This means they will assist the Hawaii with administering COVID-19 tests to travelers looking to visit the 50th state.

“Capstone was thrilled to be a partner with the State of Hawaii, making sure their travelers are going there safe and healthy. We can keep their economy running along with tourism and get Alaskans to Hawaii to take a break from the winter,” said Dennis Spencer, CEO of Capstone Clinic.

The State of Hawaii requires a negative COVID test for anyone traveling to Hawaii in place of a quarantine.

“The State of Hawaii is taking the pandemic very seriously, just like the State of Alaska is. They want to make sure travelers coming into the state have been tested, and have been tested by a reliable source -- and Capstone is happy to provide that testing,” said Spencer.

Capstone Clinic has locations in Kenai, Palmer, Wasilla, and Anchorage; and they have been looking at expanding testing locations to Fairbanks.

“We’ve been working with some folks in Fairbanks on setting up some mobile testing locations there, getting folks in Fairbanks the ability to get tested in a warm environment -- which is easier for the crew, and frankly, easier for the testing as well. So that’s coming. We got those plans in progress right now but it takes time, maybe a couple of weeks, but we’re hopeful to have something going in Fairbanks by December,” said Spencer.
