FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - HELLO EVERYONE AND WELCOME TO OUR FRIDAY NIGHT WEATHER,

TONIGHT’S PICTURE IS OF THE ALASKA RANGE AND THE MOON OVER MOUNT HAYS.

TODAY’S HIGH WAS 9 BELOW AND THE OVERNIGHT LOW DROPPED TO 22 BELOW.

THE RECORD HIGH WAS SET IN 1943 WITH 40 DEGREES WHILE THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO 37 BELOW IN 2011.

THE SUNRISE WAS AT 9:46 AM, AND THE SUN SETS AT 3:28 PM FOR A TOTAL OF 5 HOURS AND 42 MINUTES.

ACROSS THE STATE, KODIAK WAS THE WARMEST WITH FORT YUKON HAVING THE COLDEST DAY TIME TEMPERATURE.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR PICTURE SHOWED A STRONG FRONT MOVING RAPIDLY TOWARD THE SOUTHEASTERN SECTIONS OF THE STATE.

RAIN AND SNOW ARE WORKING THEIR WAY FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO THE NORTHEAST .

THE INTERIOR IS ONCE AGAIN CLEAR AND COLD.

IN THE LOWER 48, SHOWERS ARE AROUND THE SEATTLE AREA, SCATTERED RAIN AND SNOW ARE REPORTED OVER THE MID SECTION OF THE COUNTRY, WHILE THE NORTHEAST HAS SCATTERED SHOWERS.

TEMPERATURES ARE COOLEST OVER THE NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTH PACIFIC STATES, WHILE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS EXPERIENCING MILD READINGS.

BACK IN ALASKA TOMORROW, THE NORTH SLOPE WILL SEE SUNNY SKIES, AND JUST A FEW SCATTERED CLOUDS IN NOME.

THE INTERIOR WILL CONTINUE COLD WITH CLOUDS ON THE INCREASE AND POSSIBLY SOME SNOW FLURRIES BY EVENING.

OVER THE SOUTHEAST JUNEAU WILL SEE HEAVY SNOW WITH 6-10 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION, WHILE HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL AT KETCHIKAN.

OVER THE SOUTHWEST BETHEL WILL HAVE CLOUDY SKIES, WHILE COLD BAY WILL SEE RAIN AND SNOW, AND KODIAK WILL HAVE RAIN.

ANCHORAGE WILL SEE CLOUDY SKIES, HOMER WILL HAVE RAIN, WHILE RAIN AND SNOW IS EXPECTED IN VALDEZ.

LOCALLY TONIGHT IT WILL BE ANOTHER COLD NIGHT WITH PATCHY FREEZING FOG, TOMORROW LOOK FOR MORE SUNSHINE WITH CLOUDS MOVING IN BY EVENING AND POSSIBLY SOME SNOW FLURRIES INTO SUNDAY. THE EXTENDED FORECAST IS FOR MORE CLOUDS AND POSSIBLY SNOW BY WEDNESDAY INTO THANKSGIVING.
