Fairbanks School Board to host Tuesday meeting discussing children returning to school
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District School Board will host a video conference work session to discuss how the district will deal with COVID in the coming months. The public can sit in on this meeting via Zoom here.
At 6:00 p.m. on December 8th the school board will cover plans for returning students to school while in the operational red zone. According to the agenda the discussion will include consideration of all means of student instruction, from full remote learning to full in-person within the parameters of Governor Dunleavy’s recent Health Orders.
Tim Doran, President of the school board elaborated on the state of the board, telling us, “Bottom line is everyone wants kids in school. Education is very personal business and everyone wants that. How we get there given certain circumstances, we may differ a little - but we know our end goal is the same. We make a decision, we come back to it, we re-look at it, we may make a different decision as time goes on and circumstances change. What we know about COVID for instance is changing rapidly, and how does that inform our decisions?”
