Fairbanks man arrested and charged with numerous counts of sexual abuse of a minor
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Alaska State Troopers arrested a Fairbanks man and charged him three counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree and 12 counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Robert Ledlow, 49, allegedly sexually abused two girls multiple times while staying at their house.
According to charging documents, the girls, ages nine and ten, where abused by Ledlow when he would spend the night at their house. Charging documents say he inappropriately touched their genitals and breasts. The complaint also alleges that Ledlow had them perform oral sex on him.
Troopers were alerted to the incident after the victims’ mother became suspicious of Ledlow. She reported the incident and an investigation was started. Troopers interviewed all three of the siblings as well as both parents. One of the girls said nothing had happened between Ledlow and her, the other sister and their brother both said that he had abused the girls.
When troopers questioned Ledlow, he claimed that the girls had been inappropriate around him and that he had denied many sexual advances from them. He claimed that he should have told their dad about what they were doing, and even wrote them an apology letter saying his response was wrong. According to the criminal complaint, he said that he felt like he was assaulted by the girls. He later said it was his responsibility and he should have never gotten involved.
He was taken to Fairbanks Correctional Center.
