Fort Yukon man arrested for allegedly shooting at ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend

FORT YUKON, Alaska (KTVF) - A Fort Yukon man was arrested after he allegedly shot at a two people. Kris Ian James, 45, was arrested and charged with first degree assault and other charges after he entered a residence and shot at his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend.

The victims stated Kris fired multiple gunshots towards them and that one of the shots struck the male victim in the ear. They told troopers that Kris had the gun pointed at the male’s head and he pushed it away as the gun went off striking his earlobe.

Kris told troopers after he was arrested that he had done it because he was upset that the male had been intimate with the female victim, who he claimed to be his wife. Charging documents also say that Kris stated he had no regrets about what he did and would do it again.

Kris was arrested and flown to Fairbanks were he was booked at Fairbanks Correctional Center on charges of first degree assault, first degree burglary, and third degree assault.
