FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -If you are looking for something fun, safe and family friendly to do this holiday break, take a drive through the Taku and Westgate neighborhood.

The area, sometimes referred to as “Riverview” hosted a Christmas Light Competition.

Participating residents decorated their house with holiday spirit, then a picture was taken of their home and posted on a neighborhood Facebook page where people could vote.

“I started this to hopefully bring more Christmas joy to those struggling this year due to COVID and not being able to be with loved ones,” Jessica Martin, the event organizer said.
