FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - WELCOME BACK TO OUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT WEATHER. TODAQY WAS ANOTHER COLD DAY WITH HIGH CLOUDS. THE HIGH FOR THE DAY WAS ONLY 6 BELOW AFTER THE OVERNIGHT LOW OF 11 BELOW.

THE RECORD HIGH WAS 44 IN 2009, AND THE RECORD LOW AND ALL TIME LOW OF 66 WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1934.

THE SUNRISE AND SUNSET EQUALS 5 HOURS AND 6 MINUTES OF DAYLIGHT AFTER A GAIN OF 6 MINUTES .

ACROSS THE STATE, FAIRBANKS HAD THE COOLEST TEMPERATURE, WHILE THE SOUTHEAST WAS ONCE AGAIN THE WARMEST.

THE SATELLITE AND RADAR SHOWS ANOTHER LARGE STORM ACROSS THE NORTH PACIFIC HEADING NORTHEAST TOWARD THE SOUTHEASTERN SECTION OF ALASKA. SOME SNOW SHOWER ACTIVITY IS FALLING ACROSS THE PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND AND NORTH GULF COAST.

IN THE LOWER 48, ANOTHER BATCH OF RAIN IS HEADING TOWARD THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, WHILE OFF TO THE EAST MORE AREAS OF SNOW ARE DEVELOPING . OVER THE SOUTHEAST THERE IS A FRONTAL BAND WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO BE QUITE COOL ACROSS MOST OF THE COUNTRY.

ALASKA’S OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW IS FOR BLOWING SNOW ACROSS THE NORTH SLOPE, WHILE SKIES WILL BE CLOUDY IN NOME.

THE INTERIOR WILL SEE PLENTY OF SUN, BUT STRONG WINDS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS ALL OF THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

THE SOUTHEAST WILL SEE RAIN AND SNOW AT JUNEAU, WITH HEAVY RAIN IN KETCHIKAN.

BETHEL WILL HAVE CLOUDY CONDITIONS, SNOW WILL FALL AT COLD BAY, AND KODIAK WILL SEE HEAVY RAIN.

ANCHORAGE WILL HAVE A CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS, WHILE HOMER WILL SEE RAIN SHOWERS. SNOW WILL FALL AT VALDEZ, WITH BLIZZARD CONDITIONS IN THE THOMPSON PASS AREA.

LOCALLY TONIGHT WE WILL HAVE CLEAR SKIES WITH TEMPERATURES NOT AS COLD , TOMORROW CLOUDS WILL INCREASE WITH A CHANCE OF LIGHT SNOW BY LATE EVENING. THE HIGH WILL BE NEAR 10, WITH A LOW OF 3 ABOVE. THE EXTENDED FORECAST IS FOR A CHANCE OF SNOW ON FRIDAY THEN SCATTERED CLOUDS THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK WITH TEMPERATURES CONTINUING ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE PERIOD.
