FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Shortly before 4 a.m. on January 14th, Alaska State Troopers (AST) responded to 911 calls reporting a shooting which occurred on the corner of Goldstream Road and the Old Steese Highway.

According to AST Dispatch, 18-year-old Fairbanks resident Brett Allen was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

Allen was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Bryan Spears, investigator with AST, explained that the incident involved “a group of friends that had a disagreement over several things that had been boiling up for a while, and it escalated to the point that they were making threats to each other. One of the fathers got involved as well in the dispute, and then as they were arguing, someone produced a gun, and then there were three people ultimately who fired shots.”

Anthony and Aaron Peterson, ages 43 and 18, have been arrested and taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Center on a charge of Murder I.

According to the dispatch, during the altercation the Petersons “shot Allen multiple times.”

Spears said that in addition to gathering evidence at the scene, five people were interviewed to reach the determination that a homicide had occurred.
