Pet of the Week: Rocky the sweet Husky
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s time to meet Rocky - the sweet, loving husky looking for a new place to call home.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say about our Pet of the Week:
“Rocky is a two year old Alaskan husky who was surrendered to the shelter because he didn’t quite cut it for mushing.
He has lived his entire life outdoors, so moving back inside is going to be an adjustment for him. He’s a very sweet guy but is going to have to learn all the basics of how to be an inside dog such as potty training, kennel training, and just basic commands as well.
He loves the outdoors, loves to run. He was, like I said, mushing trained and skijor trained. He just doesn’t like to go on those super long runs. But he is a very active dog so this is something to take into consideration with adopting him.
Rocky also has other doggy friends here at the shelter. He has bunny friends, guinea pig friends, and a kitty here.”
