COVID-19 vaccination appointments available at Carlson Center events
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Appointments are currently available for two COVID-19 vaccination events happening in Fairbanks over the next week.
According to a press release from the Fairbanks North Star Borough, the Carlson Center is hosting the pair of Point of Dispensation (POD) clinics.
As of 4:00 p.m. March 2nd, the event on Thursday, March 4th has 198 appointments available, and for the POD on March 9th, 66 slots remain open.
Regional Nurse Manager Elizabeth Burton explained that the March 4th clinic will see 18 hundred people receive the vaccine.
“We’ve really refined our ability to serve large numbers of people. This is really contingent on having a real committed relationship between public health and Foundation Health, along with support from Tanana Chiefs Conference and many providers in the community, including volunteers who are helping to fill some of the essential roles,” Burton said.
Vaccines are also being administered at other locations around Fairbanks, including Costco, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center, and Wal-Mart.
Those looking to schedule a vaccination are encouraged to visit covidvax.alaska.gov.
