Pet of the Week: Mila the super sweet Alaskan Husky German Shepherd mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s time to meet Mila, the shy yet super sweet Alaskan Husky German Shepherd mix.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Mila is a three-year-old Alaskan Husky German Shepherd mix.
She came to the shelter with very little information. From what we understood, Mila was currently living outdoors so she’ll need the full works to learn how to be a good indoor doggy - such as potty training, kennel training, and just those basic commands.
Mila came to the shelter with her brother Pluto and is very playful with him. We do not know how she does with other dogs, so if you plan on introducing her, just be sure to do so in a safe and controlled environment. We also don’t know how she does with cats, pocket pets, or livestock.
She is a pretty sweet girl; she’s been very great with our animal tenders. She can be a little bit shy at first so she might need a little time to warm up to her new owners. But she’s looking for a new place to call home. And if you are interested in meeting Ms. Mila or any of her doggy, kitty, or bunny friends, please give the shelter a call!”
