FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Covid-19 vaccination efforts continue across the state, and an upcoming mass vaccination clinic in Fairbanks currently has quite a few open slots to fill.

The Fairbanks North Star Borough along with Alaska State Public Health have been coordinating and holding public mass vaccination clinics in the Carlson Center in an effort to vaccinate as much of the Fairbanks community as possible. The next in this series of free clinics will be held Tuesday, April 6th.

Kate Jenoski, Emergency Management Coordinator with the Fairbanks North Star Borough Emergency Management Office, invites unvaccinated community members to participate. “April 6th is one that looks like it might be a low turnout if we don’t get enough people to come in. That’s not to say we’re not going to have the whole vaccinations that day, it just seems a shame to have those spots go to waste when we’re trying to get as many people in as possible to be vaccinated - especially in light of the better weather coming and the holidays coming up. We want to make sure we see as many people that want to be vaccinated so they can start to resume their normal daily activities at least in a limited capacity as we deal with this pandemic.”

Registration for available vaccination timeslots can be done by visiting the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services website here.
