UAF Sports Administrator accepts Athletic Director position at LaGrange College

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - University of Alaska Fairbanks executive senior associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator Terlynn Olds has been named the Director of Athletics and Recreation at LaGrange College in Georgia. Expected to begin June 1, Olds will become the first full-time employee at the position, according to the institution.

LaGrange College is a Division III school that features men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports ranging from football- to beach volleyball - to football - to soccer and more in the USA South Conference. Olds, of Ruston, Louisiana, joined the UAF administration in June 2019 with over 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics.

“Terlynn has extensive leadership and management experience in intercollegiate athletics programs at the NCAA Division I and III levels,” said LaGrange College President Susana Baxter in a press release. “She has high energy and a passion for excellence, and she is committed to helping the college in our quest to be a student-centered campus with successful athletics and vibrant recreational programs.”

Prior to UAF, Olds served in prominent roles within the athletic departments of Division I institutions Grambling State University and Chicago State University. She was senior associate director of athletics for internal and business operations at Chicago State, before serving as the deputy director of athletics and business manager at Grambling, where she oversaw 15 varsity programs.

LaGrange College is in a great position to reach extraordinary heights, and I’m so excited for the opportunity to build a tremendous legacy through the Department of Athletics & Recreation.”

Olds graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports business, followed by a Master’s in science of sports coaching from the United State Sports Academy, before earning a Master’s in criminal justice from Saint Leo.
