WATCH: Interview with the Fairbanks Fire Chief about a structure fire that crews are still battling to contain
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Multiple fire departments are currently on the scene of a structure fire located in a building owned by C & R Pipe on Alta Way, near South Cushman Street in Fairbanks.
According to reporter John Dougherty, who is currently on scene, there are no injuries and everyone made it out of the building safely. The building is expected to be a total loss and was filled with tools, fabrication equipment, and fabrication projects that were currently in-progress. Officials do not know as of yet what started the fire, the building is covered by fire insurance.
Fire Chief Todd Chambers has confirmed that no one was injured in the fire and that occupants of the building did their best to remove potentially flammable substances before exiting the building, once the fire erupted.
