Fairbanks Borough comes together for spring cleaning on annual Clean-Up Day
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Fairbanks North Star Borough came together to for a day of spring cleaning.
On Saturday, May 15th, the FNSB held its annual Clean-Up Day to remove all the litter that had accumulated over the winter and get ready for the summer tourism season.
Residents and organizations across the borough participated in cleaning up their community including the Literacy Council of Alaska, whose students and staff worked to make sure their town looked its best.
Elena Mazur, English Language Student with the Literacy Council of Alaska explained, “I think it’s always important to keep the place where we live clean, and I think nobody can do it instead of us. It’s very important for me to be a part of the community of my school, the Literacy Council, and be part of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. It’s also a good chance to meet friends and communicate with them, and also to help keep the place clean.”
