Pet of the Week: Riley the excitable Husky Lab mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s time to meet Riley, the excitable escape artist with a heart of gold.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Riley is a two-year-old Lab-Husky mix. He was surrendered to the shelter because he got in a dog fight with the other dog in the home. Because of that we are requiring that Riley goes to a home without any other dogs.
However, Riley is said to do great with children of all ages. He’s said to love people, he prefers women over men but warms up very quickly.
Riley has a lot of energy and is quite the escape artist, however. He was known in the past to break out of kennels and even jump fences if not properly restrained.
Riley is a dog that is going to need plenty of exercise. He’s looking for a very active home that is willing to take him on new fun adventures. If he sounds like the dog for you, please give the shelter a call. We have lots of other fabulous dogs, bunnies, and cats up for adoption.”
