Pet of the Week: Violet the affectionate, cuddles-craving cat
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - With a stressful life behind her, this sweet kitty is looking for a home where she can bloom and grow for the rest of her senior days.
Violet is a 15 year-old, slightly drooly cat that could use some special care and cuddles.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Violet was surrendered to the shelter because she came from a stressful environment in her previous home and they were hoping for a better fit for her.
Miss Violet is 15 years old, and she is just looking for a place to spend her senior years. Violet is in early renal failure, so she does need to be on a prescription diet for the rest of her life. But she’s been really good on it here at the shelter and she really enjoys the canned food.
Violet has been consistently using her litter box here at the shelter, however she strongly does not like the other cats in the cat room. So, we are requiring that Violet goes to a home with no other cats. She’s said to have previously done well with children and with dogs. But again, cats are no fun for her.
Violet is a sweet girl, looking for a place again to spend her senior years. If she seems like a good fit for you, please give the shelter a call. We also have plenty of dogs, rabbits, and even a few chickens available for adoption.”
