Pet of the Week: Lexus the adventurous Alaskan Husky mix
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Looking for a new hiking buddy? Well then we have the perfect friend for you! Lexus is a adventurous older pup who enjoys a good walk, but is also a calming presence at home.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Lexus is a nine year old Alaskan Husky mix who was surrendered to the shelter because her previous owner was being deployed and was unable to take her.
He described Lexus as a sweet, outgoing, older pup who isn’t bothered by anything. Lexus is said to be housebroken and kennel trained. She’ll go to the door when she needs to go outside and let out a little grunt.
Even though Lexus is nine years old, she still has a lot of energy and loves to go on walks and find new adventures. Lexus is said to do well with other dogs. We do not know how she is with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. As she is an Alaskan Husky and they have a higher prey drive, just please keep that in mind if planning to adopt.
Lexus is a sweet older girl looking for her forever home, and if you think that could be with you please give the shelter a call. We have plenty of other dogs, rabbits, and a few cats looking for their forever homes.”
