Fairbanks Light Opera Theater prepares for opening weekend
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - This weekend, The Fairbanks Light Opera Theater (FLOT) is making its first comeback since the COVID-19 pandemic first put the brakes on most theatrical performances.
Starting Friday July 16th and running until the 18th, FLOT will be presenting “Daddy Long Legs,” a two-actor stage musical set in New England during the turn-of-the-century. The show will feature a score performed by local Fairbanks musicians.
Friday and Saturday showtimes are set for 7:00 p.m., and Sunday’s will take place at 2:00 p.m. The show will be free for all medical workers, first responders, and fire fighters.
Nick Hudson, President of the FLOT Board of Directors told us, “We had about, a little more than two months to do this. This is our first show back since having about a year and a half, almost two year hiatus. Given everything that’s been going on in the world, a lot of theater companies have been trying to get back into doing some sort of performing or workshops. It took us a while to get the approval because we just wanted to be as safe as possible for the community.”
Tickets are available at FLOT.org
