Summertime snow machine sled show displays many vintage machines
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Here’s a story for all those who can’t wait for the snow to fall and spend some time with their favorite wintertime vehicle.
Alaska Vintage Sleds set out their annual snowmobile show Saturday, showing off a wide collection of snow machines from different eras and design families. With machines new and old from Valdez, Kenai, Wasilla, Palmer and Fairbanks, the show was not wanting for variety. Sponsored by Fairbanks Tired Iron, the show also acts as a platform to support the Midnight Sun Council Boy Scouts, and the Highway Safety Committee.
Richard Nox, Owner of Alaska Vintage Sleds explained, “We’re putting on the annual summertime Alaska Vintage Sleds snowmachine show. It’s a highlight of all the historical vehicles that are out here in people’s backyards, hiding in the woods. You can see by the inside of the shop here that there’s some immaculately restored machines, we’ve got some vendors here, we’ve got the state highway safety committee here kicking off their ‘watch out for motorcycles’ campaign.... all around good time, summertime in Alaska.”
