FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - On Thursday, July 22, the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly voted to ratify a collective bargaining agreement with the Fairbanks North Star Borough Employees Association.

This union represents approximately 310 employees, or about 69% of the borough’s workforce.

The vote was unanimous, with all nine members of the body voting in favor.

Before the vote, Assemblymember Leah Berman Williams spoke in favor of its ratification, saying, “I wanted to thank everybody on both sides who worked really hard to get this contract sorted out. I know that it was a challenging time and I appreciate everybody’s hard work and that we were able to sort out a contract that everybody agrees with.”
