Pet of the Week: Rosie, the cute-as-can-be Albino Bunny
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - It’s time to meet Rosie, a cute-as-can-be bunny who can’t wait to hop into your life.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Rosie is a three-year-old spayed female bunny, who came to the shelter a few months ago and she’s still looking for her forever home.
If you’ve never had a bunny before, these guys can make excellent pets. They can be litter box trained, and Rosie has really picked up on that here at the shelter. They should have timothy hay available at all times for their teeth and GI system, as well as a measured amount of daily pellet food, as well as fresh greens - and she loves her fresh greens.
Bunnies do like to have a larger area where they can hop around and kind of explore. So, if you do plan on letting your bunny roam around in your house, just please make sure that it’s bunny-proofed first. They do like to chew on things because bunnies’ teeth do continue to grow throughout their lives. Unfortunately, electrical wires can be a favorite, and furniture - so just please make sure that you have a bunny-proof area.
Rosie is a sweet girl, she’s been super friendly here at the shelter with her animal tenders, and she would love to hop on out of here and into her new forever home. We have plenty of other bunnies available for adoption, as well as dogs, cats, and a few other rodents.”
