Golden Days Street Fair sees “great attendance” after 2020 cancellation
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -
It was a lively scene downtown Fairbanks on Saturday as the Golden Days Street Fair took place between 1st Avenue and Noble Street.
There were 44 vendors and 6 musical acts that took place between noon and 7:00 P.M. Many people gathered for the food, community outreach, and some good ol’ fun in the sun. Jinnel Choiniere, the president and CEO of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce said both the Street Fair and Grand Parade had “great attendance”.
She also discussed the impacts Covid-19 had on the layout of the event stating, “Golden Days has definitely been challenging to put together.” She said the organization changed the layout to provide more space between vendors. She also said the overall size of the street fair was expanded to allow better social distancing. Since there was more space this year, Choiniere said there was extra room for activities to take place. The larger area also resulted in having more musical acts.
