FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Last Sunday, the Alaska State Troopers received an InReach SOS reporting a crash involving a four wheeler, and CPR was in progress.

When troopers and Tri-Valley medics responded to the scene, the investigation revealed two 12-year old boys from Fairbanks were riding together on a 4-wheeler when they hit a bump, drove off the side of the road and rolled.

Despite life saving measures, one of the boys succumbed to his injuries. Both boys wore helmets and family members were on scene.

The 12-year old boy’s body is being transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage.
