Pet of the Week: Junebug the loving Siberian Husky
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - If you’re a fan of hugs and dog kisses, then you’ll love Junebug.
Junebug is a lovable Siberian Husky looking for a new loving home to call her own. Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Junebug is a one-year-old Siberian Husky. She came in with that group of ten Siberian Huskies that we had a while back. She was adopted, but unfortunately was returned to the shelter due to no fault of her own, [but due to] a personal injury to her previous owner.
Junebug is super sweet, she is super outgoing, and she is very much still a puppy. Junebug is going to need the full works as far as potty training goes and basic obedience, and just kind of the ins and outs of being a good girl.
She is super loving, super affectionate, her previous owners did say that she was great with children. We still don’t know how she does with smaller animals such as cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Siberian Huskies do tend to have a higher prey drive, so if you do have those smaller critters around just please take caution if choosing to introduce her.
Junebug is a very happy girl looking for her forever home. We have plenty of other dogs, cats, turtles, and roosters here available at the shelter for adoption. If you’re interested, please give us a call!”
