FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Eight new quadplexes are ready to welcome new families on Fort Wainwright. The extended Bear Paw neighborhood will house 32 Army families.

Contractors have finished constructing the buildings after starting work on them last spring.

Wednesday the first family got the keys to their new home after a ribbon cutting ceremony. Damian and Rebekka McGregor have been at Fort Wainwright since June with their two children, and are excited to move in. Rebekka said they were living in an older house, but this one is much nicer.

“This is probably the nicest house that you and I have ever lived in in our lives. So it is nice to have this for the kids,” Rebekka said.

The housing project also renovated over 50 other homes on Fort Wainwright.
