Pet of the Week: Olga, the Labrador Retriever mix who loves to sing
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Olga is a loving and friendly dog with a passion for serenading those around her.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Olga is a 9-month-old Labrador Retriever mix, who was surrendered to the shelter because her previous owners just feel like they didn’t have the funds and the time to put into her.
However, she is such a sweetheart! Olga is said to do great with people of both genders. She loves strangers, she greets you with a whole-body wag. She is also said to do great with other dogs. We do not know how Olga does with smaller critters such as cats, livestock, or pocket pets. When choosing to introduce Olga to other animals, just please do so in a safe and controlled manner.
Here at the shelter, Olga has been great at keeping her kennel tidy and accident free. She is, however, quite on the vocal side. So, if you are not prepared for a vocal dog, she might not be the gal for you. Olga is a sweet girl looking for her forever home - and if you are interested in getting Olga or any of the other dogs, cats, rabbits, or turtles we have here at the shelter, please give us a call!”
