Fairbanks North Star Borough residents head to the polls for election day
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Tuesday, October 5 is Election Day, and voters gather at polling stations around the Fairbanks North Star Borough to make their voices heard.
Races are happening at the borough level as well as at the City of Fairbanks and the City of North Pole.
Among the positions being decided are the Borough Mayor and three Borough Assembly seats, two seats on the School Board, two Fairbanks City Council seats, and the Mayor of North Pole.
Polls opened at locations spread around the community.
According to Borough Clerk, April Trickey, an election results dashboard is available on the borough’s webpage.
This dashboard will show results by precinct from the Cities of Fairbanks and North Pole as well as the borough itself.
It is expected to be updated every half hour starting at 8:30 p.m.
“We’ll also have a PDF summary report, so it will just be a summary of the election results. It won’t be by precincts for tonight. If you want to know how your precinct did, you will need to use the dashboard to see where your voting precinct came in on the candidates and what the numbers are there, but the summary will be out there as a P-D-F for those individuals,” Trickey said.
Polls will be open until 8:00 p.m.
