FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Petals in a adorably shy bunny who is looking for a new forever home she can bloom in.

Here’s what Chelsea Arnold, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:

“Petals the rabbit is just over a year old, and she is a spayed female rabbit who is available for adoption.

She came to the shelter because she was given to somebody as a gift, and they could no longer take care of her. But she is described as very friendly, a little bit shy, and she even does well with children. But she can be shy at first when first meeting new people.

Petals is allowed out of her cage on occasion to roam around the house and that’s highly recommended to get her some good exercise. But please be aware that you’ll need to pick up any cords, cables, anything that can get Petals into trouble if she starts chewing on things as rabbits do tend to chew on things.

Petals, just like any other rabbit, will need full access to Timothy hay at all times. She’ll also need a little bit of pelleted commercial rabbit food, and some leafy greens will keep her happy as some nice supplementary treats to her diet. Petals like all rabbits, will need chew toys as well to keep her teeth from getting overgrown. So, make sure she has various chew toys to keep her happy and to keep your baseboards free of chewing.

If you’re interested in Petals the rabbit... or we have a turtle, hamsters, dogs, and cats... please give the shelter a call and ask about any of them.”
