FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - You might have rhythm and melody, so now all you need is Tempo.

Tempo is a loving little escape artist who is looking for a new home. Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:

“Tempo is a Lab Mastiff mix who is just over a year old. Tempo was surrendered to the shelter because he was being a little bit destructive in his home. He was starting to chew and dig, and his owners just felt that they couldn’t keep up and help him get over this behavior.

Here at the shelter, Tempo has been the sweetest boy ever. He was said to do well previously with other dogs and even do OK with cats. Here at the shelter, he has really shown his playful side with his doggy neighbors and likes companionship. If you do choose to introduce Tempo to other animals, please just be sure to do it in a safe and controlled environment.

Tempo has done excellent at keeping his kennel clean. He is a very high energy dog however, so he’s looking for a very active home - somebody who can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated to keep him out of trouble. Tempo has also showed us that he is quite the fence climber, so making sure that he is always on a leash when outdoors, or a secured fenced in area with a top is going to be key for this guy to keep him contained.

If you are interested in meeting Tempo or any of our other dogs, cats, or pocket pets here at the shelter, please give us a call!”
