Tis the season for holiday cheer, presents, Christmas cards, and trips to the post office
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - You’re going to want to send your Christmas cards and packages early this holiday season to make sure they arrive on time. Two weeks before Christmas is expected to be the busiest time of the year according to the United States Postal Service, (USPS) and it will only get busier.
USPS anticipates between 850 and 950 million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. The postal service estimates more than 12 billion letters, cards, and packages will be delivered throughout the entire holiday season.
If you want your “First Class” and “Priority” mail delivered by December 25, the deadline to send to or from Alaska is December 18. The deadline for “Priority Mail Express” is December 21.
Expanded Sunday delivery services will start on November 28.
