FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Prancer is a shy pup with a love for the outdoors and the snow.

Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:

“Prancer is a 6-month-old Alaskan Husky who was surrendered with his two siblings Dasher and Dancer. Unfortunately, their previous owner did not leave too much information on these pups, other than they were generally happy dogs.

Here at the shelter, Prancer has been a little bit on the shy side. Until you get him out in the snow, and then he is all energy all the time.

It’s safe to assume all three of these pups are not housebroken, so Prancer is looking for a patient owner that can help with his potty training as well as learning a few basic commands. If you are not familiar with Alaskan Huskies, they do tend to have a higher prey drive. So if you have those smaller critters around, just be cautious if choosing to introduce them to him.

Prancer seems very friendly and playful when it comes to other dogs, but the same goes for when meeting new dog friends. Just make sure to do it in a safe and controlled environment.

Prancer is looking for a very active home that can keep him both mentally and physically stimulated. If you are interested in meeting this happy pup or any of the other dogs, cats, or bunnies here at the shelter please give us a call!”
