FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - This pup loves to go go go! And she’s looking for a new loving home to share that energy with.
Here’s what Britley Calkins, an animal handler with Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter, had to say:
“Kairi is a year old, and she is a Rottweiler German Shepherd mix. Kairi has been here at the shelter with us for a little bit now. She was adopted for a day and was described as the best dog ever.
Unfortunately, it just didn’t work out to keep her in that home. Kairi is required to go to a home without cats, because she does love to chase them and that is just not fair to our feline friends. Kairi is said to do well with other dogs. Please make sure to do any introductions in a slow, safe, controlled environment. Kairi has a lot of energy and she is just a bundle of joy -- and some dogs may not react the best to that energy.
Kairi has had a few accidents in her kennel while being here at the shelter. She was said to be potty trained, but this might be something that her new owners need to remind her of when she gets into her own home. Kairi has done really well at not destroying any blankets in her enclosure, but she does have a lot of energy.
She is looking for an active home, somebody that can keep her both mentally and physically stimulated. If Kairi sounds like the girl for you, if you have that time and energy to put into her training, into keeping her well exercised, please give the shelter a call. We have plenty of other dogs, pocket pets, and cats available for adoption here at the shelter”
