FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - UAF has managed to find new dates for postponed athletics events.

Starting with Nanooks hockey, UAF had a series against the Minnesota Gophers scheduled for the second and third of October earlier this year. This event was cancelled however due to COVID protocols pushing back the season opener to the first series against Clarkson.

Well this series has finally been rescheduled to take place January fourteenth and fifteenth. These games will be held at the 3M Arena in Mariucci, Minnesota as originally planned. Tickets for the original game back in October will be considered valid for this rescheduled event.

Along with the rescheduled hockey game, the two women’s basket ball games that were postponed due to COVID protocols and other health and safety concerns, have been rescheduled as well.

The Nanooks women’s basketball team was originally supposed to play Western Oregon back on December second, following with a game against Saint Martin University on the fourth.

The Nanooks will now be facing the Saint Martin Saint’s, on January fourth. That game will still be held in Lacey Washington at Saint Martin’s University. As for the game against the Western Oregon Wolves, that will take place on January eleventh in Monmouth Oregon.

For the fans at home, the hockey game against the University of Minnesota will start at 3pm Alaska standard time on the fourteenth and fifteenth. Meanwhile, the basketball game at Saint Martin’s on the 4th of January, will happen at 6:00 pm our time, while the game against the Wolves on the eleventh is at 4:15 Alaska standard time.

As of this moment, there is no information regarding the status of tickets for the two basketball games. To find out more go to or call the ticket office and administration at 907-474-NOOK(6665).
