Fairbanks man dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound after Trooper chase.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Alaska State Troopers (AST) received a report on Tuesday, January 4 that 39-year old Fairbanks resident Michael Quinn had assaulted a female between December 5, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

Troopers began an investigation into the allegations, and on January 5 an arrest warrant was issued.

Quinn was spotted driving an SUV in the area of Goldhill Road and the Parks Highway. When he saw the Troopers he sped away and eventually drove into a snowbank and flipped the vehicle.

When AST approached the vehicle, Quinn was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Quinn’s remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner and next of kin have been notified.
