North Pole Police Department responds to armed robbery on Santa Claus Lane
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - North Pole Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress in front of 301 North Santa Claus Lane on January 12 at 11:32 p.m. The police were advised one person was being held at gunpoint and another person had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and detained several individuals in the parking lot.
Adam Dane Selid was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH). Selid was later pronounced dead at FMH. Selid’s next of kin have been notified.
An investigation revealed Adam Selid and Dalen Davis set up a time and place to meet and purchase firearms from another person.
Prior to the meeting, Selid and Davis conspired with each other to rob the seller during the purchase.
Selid and Davis met with the seller and agreed to purchase the weapons. Selid then pulled out a handgun and threatened the seller. A struggle took place at which time the seller produced his own firearm and fired one round that struck Selid.
Dalen Davis was interviewed at the North Pole Police Department and arrested and booked at the Fairbanks Correctional Center. He is charged with Robbery in the 1st degree and Murder in the 2nd Degree, because he knowingly engaged in conduct that resulted in the death of another person.
The seller who fired at Adam Selid has not been charged at this time.
The case is under investigation.
